University of Iowa College of Dentistry's Inaugural Prophy Cup

On Sunday, September 7th, 2014 the IASDA (Iowa American Student Dental Association): the University of Iowa's College of Dentistry's student government & the dental students equivalent to their own ADA (American Dental Association) hosted an event...an event that provided SMILES all day, but also for the PURPOSE of smiles!

The Inaugural year of The Prophy Cup was co-planned by a 2nd year & 4th year duo of dental students along with help and support from classmates, administrators from the college of dentistry, and alums.  The event was held at the Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City, & was a HUGE SUCCESS!

The benefits from this event go to a fund: The 2011 Fund, & it is purposeful two fold.  It helps give patients with dental needs the ability to afford treatment, and therefore creates clinical hour requirements for the dental students.

We are VERY PROUD that our practices Dr. Tina Kurtz-Hulten contributed to the benefit for her alma mater as a Hole Sponsor & the event raised over $1,500.00 to go into the fund and towards helping patients with treatment needs as well as, dental students earning graduation!

The benefit event has been set up to to happen yearly in the Fall, for interest in contributing or sponsoring a hole please contact: peter-marsho@uiowa.edu or connie-bringham@uiowa.edu.  For more pictures from the event you may also visit: http://www.facebook.com/IowaASDA.com and click on albums.
